Just to be sure, do you have to drain all fluids when taking the engine out to rebuild it?

I mean, I already drained the coolant and oil… but what other stuff should you do when taking out an engine? I’m rebuilding mine so I wanna be sure everything is ready to go when it’s time to take it apart and then put it back together.

well really you dont have to drain any of them but they will leak out sometime leaving a big mess.. if your pulling the trans id do it also or put a bag over the end and its easier now than when its on the floor you got it right so far

no you don’t but here’s what will happen, when you least expect it, you’ll pull a line off and fluid will flow all over you. I pulled a transmission out a couple months ago with out pulling the fluid out, fluid all over me. Rule of thumb for me, if its going to get in my way, pull the fluid out,

i recommend a short block; you dont hae to boar or change bearings or worry about the came and leaks in the block..
