The pattern for a well designed drain system

The purpose of drainage pipes is to expel the discharge coming out from the home and direct it into the septic or sewer tanks. In the case of the home sewer system, pipes are placed in between the inspection chambers. The system must be able to clean itself without blockage. Appropriate gradients are used to accomplish this. UPVC tubing is mainly used in the system. After laying the system, the next important step is to test it before completing work and closing the system. The tests must be conducted in between the inspection chambers to allow each part of the system to be thoroughly checked.

Trenches should be dug and the drainage pipes should be laid in them. They can be three to five hundred millimeters in depth. Such sewer systems are enclosed in concrete when they pass below driveways, walkways or under a parking. Before the construction of the drains, it is better to dig the earth to the recommended levels and check the gradients. These should be graded towards the the tanks or sewers. The drop or slope is generally in the ratio of 1:4 to facilitate water flow in a controlled way. The bottom of the trenches must be well compressed and jammed to give a secure base. Employ marking lines to position the trench bottoms to their correct levels.

Drainage pipes should be laid in a straight line. The pipes should then be connected with sockets so that it can finally reach up to the building. The ground on which the systems lies should be even and solid. Male and female sockets should be connected using good quality adhesive. The adhesive pack comes with instructions, make sure they are strictly followed. Pipes must fit exactly into the thickness of the wall, during connection to the inspection chambers. The pipes should remain clean.

Check all the drain pipes before installing them. This is to guarantee that the pipes are not damaged at any points and do not have holes or cracks. The recesses of the socket should be made at the deepest point. However they should not be too long. The inlet and outlet points must be evened out and marked appropriately. After fixing all the joints properly, the system then needs to be wrapped up with soil. Connect to the sewer or septic tank. The drainage system is now ready once you connect to the utilities.
