trying2install washing machine-it takes in water but dsnt drain. any advice b4 i call the plumber?
actually it does drain – if i use the sink. but there are no other pipes in my kitchen so i wouldn’t know where else to attach the drain hose..the one i tried doesn’t work..
thanks
thanks everyone – i think i have removed the caps on the drain hose, otherwise it wouldn’t work in the sink either, so there must be a problem with the pipe going out
So where are you trying to make it drain when you *don’t* use the sink?
If it’s one of those things *under* the sink that you push the pipe onto, make sure the end has been cut off… When new, they are sealed at the end where you’d expect the water to go down.
under your sink will be the grey or white waste water pipes, in DIY shops you can get an attachment that will allow you to cut into these pipes and connect the waste water hose from a washing machine.
it could be the pump has stopped working
if its a new machine ensure that you have removed the cap from the hose.
are you sure that both ends of the drain hose are unblocked on the washer..make sure that both ends on the pipe going out of your house are as well
does the drum turn? if so and if the waste pipe is behind the machine try it with the machine pulled out a little way as it will not pump out if the drain hose is kinked, if drum not turning remove back of machine and remove transit straps, also check pump belt with back removed.
